Relief grants available for Louisville small businesses

Starting July 1, Louisville small businesses impacted by COVID-19 can apply for a new grant program.

Federal CARES Act funds totaling $21 million will be used for the grants of up to $50,000 to eligible small businesses in Jefferson Co. The grants are intended to save jobs, provide relief and restore business operations.

Louisville Metro Council passed the grant program as part of the recently approved 2020-2021 operating budget for the city. Businesses must meet criteria to be eligible.

Industries like retail, food service, entertainment, recreation and child care will be prioritized. At least half of the funds will go to low-to-moderate income census tracts. Funds can be used for payroll, utilities, mortgage assistance, technology and other expenses.
