Republic Bank hosted an event to announce a record gift to Metro United Way, and to thank employee donors at one of its downtown locations Thursday morning. The total gift of over $188,000 from this year’s campaign marks the Bank’s largest ever combined corporate and employee donation.
“Republic Bank and Metro United Way, both local organizations, are joined by their passion for making the Greater Louisville region equitable and strong,” said Logan Pichel, president and CEO of Republic Bank, and one of this year’s Metro United Way campaign co-chairs. “Both have long histories of serving our community — particularly in underserved areas — and want to make sure where we live is a better place for all. We encourage corporate partners and donors to meet and exceed their investments of previous years to address the urgent need in our community.”
The current Metro United Way campaign began in August 2023 and will conclude at the end of February.
“It’s because of donors like Republic Bank that we’re able to support partners like Goodwill Industries of Kentucky, so they can focus on their mission of offering free, life-enhancing programs and services to the Commonwealth’s most underserved populations,” said Metro United Way CEO Adria Johnson.
“Together, Republic Bank and Metro United Way are helping us build a safer, stronger and healthier Louisville for generations to come,” said Louisville Mayor Craig Greenburg. “I am grateful for their continued commitment to our city, our people and our future.”
The event was held at the Bank’s “Gathering Place,” a newly renovated space within Republic Plaza designed to support additional Bank associates who moved from two east end offices in 2023. The move reflects the Bank’s commitment to creating a more vibrant downtown and supporting a flexible hybrid and work-from-home environment for its associates.
