Carolyn Callahan has spent more than 20 years helping organizations communicate, tell their stories and navigate some of their most important moments. A graduate of the University of South Carolina, she began her career as a television journalist, where she developed a passion for storytelling and a deep understanding of how organizations can communicate clearly, credibly and effectively.

Carolyn later moved into strategic communications, leading media relations for UofL Health and helping navigate communications during the COVID-19 pandemic and other complex, high-profile issues. She went on to serve as Chief Communications Officer for Jefferson County Public Schools, Kentucky’s largest school district, where she led a team of more than 30 professionals and oversaw communications, marketing, media relations, crisis communications, branding, digital strategy and community engagement for more than 94,000 students, 18,000 employees and 150 schools. Her work has earned several national awards from the National School Public Relations Association, as well as recognition as a 2025 Bingham Fellow, 40 Under 40 honoree, Young Leader in Louisville and Kentucky Colonel.

Today, as Vice President at C2 Strategic Communications, Carolyn draws on those experiences to help clients solve problems, tell their stories and communicate through both the good moments and the difficult ones. She particularly enjoys the challenge of taking complicated issues and finding a clear, compelling way to tell the story.
