Tawana Bain is the publisher and owner of Today’s Woman , and founder and CEO of TBAIN & Co. Today’s Woman is a multi-faceted, mission-driven, multimedia company that has been celebrating and supporting women in Louisville and Southern Indiana for thirty years.
Bain became publisher of Today’s Woman magazine in March 2021. Since then, she’s been able to lead the evolution of the brand into one that is a connector of women across all races and cultures. Through impactful print and digital content, Today’s Woman hosts publishes a monthly magazine, empowerment events and multi-platform initiatives, like the annual Derby Diversity Week.
Bain moved to Louisville in 2004, and found her niche in several of the city’s booming industries. Bain has since created her own clothing boutique, AFM Threads, and helped transform The Black Jockey Lounge in Louisville.
Bain shares aims to encourage women and persons of all backgrounds to challenge themselves and overcome fears in order to materialize their visions and dreams.
Born in Rochester, New York, Bain received a Bachelor of Arts in French communications at Brockport University and minored in computer science. She currently resides in Louisville and continues to pour into her community.
