Kentucky Medicaid President for Anthem

Leon Lamoreaux is Kentucky Medicaid President for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. In this role, he oversees the delivery of high-quality health care for all Medicaid members in the Commonwealth.  

An executive with over three decades of experience in the health care industry, Leon possesses a long, proven track record of developing and implementing effective business plans and marketing strategies, as well as launching health care and health insurance products in the private and public sectors.

Prior to his current position, Leon was Anthem Wisconsin Medicaid President, where he successfully spearheaded expansion efforts to better meet the needs of members in the Badger State. Previous roles also include president and CEO of New West Health Services in Helena, Montana, and vice president of government programs for several health care management organizations.

Leon holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) from Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri. He also earned his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), graduating fourth in his class, from Brigham Young University.

A native of Utah, Leon currently resides in Goshen, Kentucky. 

Of note, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Kentucky serves more than 163,500 Medicaid members across the state – 42 percent of which live in a rural area. In fact, Anthem serves nearly 40,000 Medicaid members in eastern Kentucky with roughly 18 percent of them residing in a rural area.
