Dr. Ty Handy serves as the president of Jefferson Community and Technical College and is one of 16 college presidents who make up the Kentucky Community and Technical College System Leadership Team.
Before becoming president in 2016, Handy served as president of Northwest Florida State College, president of Vermont Technical College, chancellor at Ivy Tech Community College in southern Indiana and chief academic officer and dean for academic affairs at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College from 1993 to 1998.
As president, Handy is focused on establishing Jefferson as a premier gateway for higher education in the region and serving students and employers who are seeking to advance their technical skills, education and training.
Handy earned a doctoral degree in higher education administration from the University of Memphis. He earned a master’s degree in business administration from Drexel University and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Western Kentucky University.
