Andy Barber is an associate vice president for HDR, a global engineering, architecture, and construction firm known for adding beauty and structure to communities through high-performance buildings and smart infrastructure.
Prior to working for HDR, Barber spent 19 years with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, including serving as State Highway Engineer until June 2020. During his time at KYTC, Barber served as project manager for many endeavors, including the Louisville–Southern Indiana Ohio River Bridges Project, the Walsh Design Build team on the Downtown Crossing, the Milton Madison Bridge Replacement Project and the cabinet’s Lexington district.
Through these projects and others, Barber’s work has helped reshape and improve transportation in Kentucky. His time at KYTC helped the organization bring challenging, innovative and historic developments to completion. His contributions on the Commonwealth’s essential infrastructure will positively impact the lives of Kentuckians today and for generations to come.
Barber has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Kentucky. He lives in Louisville with his wife, Jennifer, and two kids, Molly and Lucy.
