In the 2025 legislative session of the Kentucky General Assembly, the legislature passed HB 664 – also known as the Jared Lee Helton Act – which allows automated speed monitoring devices to be used by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet in work zones.
Rep. John Blanton, the sponsor of HB 664, sat down with Building Kentucky to discuss how these devices will help keep Kentuckians both driving and working on the Commonwealth’s highways safe.
