Staying true to its mission, Republic Bank continues to make an impact by enabling the communities it serves to thrive. In collaboration with local partners, the Louisville-based community bank celebrated the launch of new developments throughout September.
Last month, Republic Bank leaders and associates joined Hosparus Health to break ground on a stand-alone Hospice Care Center. The groundbreaking followed a generous gift from the Republic Bank Foundation, which helped Hosparus Health reach its fundraising goal for the new facility.
“From their leadership on our board to their strategic guidance on our capital projects, our long-standing partnership with Republic Bank has been instrumental,” Hosparus Health SVP and Chief Development and Marketing Officer Tawanda Owsley said. “This generous gift will profoundly impact the lives of those we serve, enabling us to provide the highest level of care and support to our patients and their families.”
Republic Bank also proudly partnered with Greater Louisville Pride Foundation (GLPF) to honor Dr. Kevin Cosby with a Hometown Heroes banner. The GLPF program honors a diverse group of famous Louisvillians from a variety of professions – all of whom have inspired others and represented our community to the rest of the world. The giant vinyl banners are works of public art and can be found on buildings throughout the Louisville metro area.
“We are proud to honor Dr. Cosby with a Hometown Heroes banner on our Republic Bank Plaza Building,” Republic Bank Board Chair Steve Trager said ahead of the banner unveiling. “His unwavering commitment to education, faith, and community empowerment has uplifted generations in Louisville and beyond.”
On September 18, Dr. Cosby’s banner on the north-facing wall of the Republic Bank Plaza Building at 7th and Market Streets in downtown Louisville was unveiled to the public. The event was well attended by community leaders, city officials, Republic Bank executives, and supporters. Dr. Cosby was ushered in by the Simmons College of Kentucky Drumline.
Beyond community partnerships, Republic Bank’s parent company, Republic Bancorp, Inc., was recognized among the top 25 publicly traded banks last month.
“We’re honored to be nationally recognized by Bank Director as a top 25 bank for financial performance,” Republic President and CEO Logan Pichel said. “This recognition is a testament to our mission to enable our associates, customers, communities, and shareholders to thrive.”
Republic Bank is proud to be recognized by numerous local and national organizations for its impact as a leading financial institution, committed community partner, and preferred employer. Additional noteworthy financial and banking accolades include Raymond James Community Bankers Cup (2025), S&P Global Market Intelligence Top 50 Community Bank (2025, 2024), Newsweek Best Regional Bank (2025, 2024), Newsweek Best Online Lender (2024), and more.
