Teams Revealed for I-75 Modernization Project
Five teams responded to a request for qualifications for a public-private partnership in Michigan to modernize a stretch of Interstate 75. The Michigan Department of Transportation plans to use a Design-Build-Finance-Maintain contracting method to construct the third segment of the I-75 Modernization Project, a project that has been in the planning stages for 20 years.
The following teams are vying for the contract after lodging their bids by the December 8 deadline:
- Star America, Vinci and Granite
- John Laing, Aecom, Dan’s Excavating, Ajax Paving and Jaydee Contractors
- Walsh and Meridiam
- Fengate, Wahlbridge and Michels Corporation
- Dragados/ACS
MDOT expects to release the shortlist and the draft RFP to the shortlisted firms in January 2018. Under the plans, the final 5.5 mile segment (Segment 3) of the I-75 corridor in the Detroit Metro Region will be delivered under a design, build, finance, maintain model. The partner will receive availability payments.
