New Los Angeles County transit lines are expected to open sooner rather than later. The transit agency, Metro, recently announced it is accepting proposals from contractors to speed construction on transit lines, resulting in the project completing 14 to 15 years ahead of schedule.
L.A. county voters recently approved a sales-tax initiative to fund dozens of transit lines throughout the region over the course of 50 years.
“By creating innovative partnerships with the private sector,” said Mayor Eric Garcetti in a statement, “we can accelerate Measure M projects, and ease traffic across our region even more quickly than we expected.”
