2019 was a massive year for Rupp Arena. Highlights include numerous major concert touring artists like Pink and Paul McCartney, the installation of new chair back seats in the upper arena and two new records set: the fastest concert sell out in Rupp history (Luke Combs) and the highest number of concerts on sale in a single month (seven in November).
Despite a four month closure (June 15 – Oct. 4) for renovations in 2019, Rupp Arena hosted 33 public ticketed, non UK Basketball events in an 8-month window, with 313,000 tickets sold. By comparison in 2018, Rupp hosted 30 public ticketed, non UK Basketball events, over a full 12-month calendar year with 328,000 tickets sold.
