Keep spooky season scary for people, not pets.

PetFirst Pet Insurance hopes to reduce stress on pets. “Whether it’s getting into chocolate, darting out an opened door or dealing with the noisy nature of the holiday, Halloween can be more freighting than fun,” says PetFirst CEO Katie Blakeley.

Remember BONES:

  • Be sure to know where your pet is.
  • Only dog and cat treats.
  • Noise reduction. Doorbells and knocks can stress pets.
  • Exercise early. Avoid the worries of a Halloween night walk.
  • Safely stash décor. Fake Halloween bones aren’t toys.

Last year, PetFirst saw a $4,000 vet bill after a dog chewed metallic wire in a piece of decoration.
