Petition for better roads encourages investment in Kentucky infrastructure

The Kentucky Infrastructure Coalition (KIC) has launched an online petition to increase infrastructure funding in Kentucky. The Petition for Better Roads calls on legislators to invest in transportation projects to improve safety, attract business and expand the economy.

According to KIC, nearly one in 10 roads in the state has been rated as not acceptable. Kentucky roads and highways have the fourth-highest fatality rate in the United States. KIC points to a backlog of needs, falling behind neighboring states and the depletion of federal toll credits as reasons why acting now is important.

The Kentucky Infrastructure Coalition is made up of manufacturers, farmers, business owners, local leaders and more than 40,000 transportation workers interested in roads, bridges and all other modes of transportation in the Commonwealth.
