Partnership Bringing Food Incubator to Chicago
The city of Chicago is joining with private and corporate donors to create a food incubator for East Garfield Park on the West Side.
The $30 million facility will feature 56 commercial kitchens for fledgling businesses, as well as demonstration kitchens and a food court. The city predicts the incubator will create 150 jobs in the first year and up to 900 over five years.
Chicago will contribute $8 million to the project, with the remainder coming from the private sector.
