Derby Diversity Week (DDW) founder and Louisville Business First Power 50 2022 honoree Tawana Bain is preparing for the sixth annual Derby Diversity Week, beginning on May 1 in Louisville.
DDW attracts some of the world’s top suppliers, buyers, executives and business leaders to four action packed conference days of networking and excitement, along with numerous elaborate evening parties and themed events. It brings professionals of all backgrounds together to grow awareness around diversity and establish equity for all.
This year’s conference will boast big names in several different sectors — including Joanna Lohman, National Women’s Soccer League player and LGBTQ+ advocate, Grammy Award winning producer Bryan-Michael Cox, DJ Drama, DJ Envy, and many more.
Proceeds from DDW benefit the Global Economic Diversity Development Initiative, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation dedicated to funding programs for non-profit and for-profit organizations that are focused on building economic wealth for the Black community. The initiative began in 2020 and has continued to build its capacity to become the leader in funding Black business development.
