Ohio businesses may benefit from a newly create public-private partnership designed to provide aid in times of disaster. The Ohio Public Private Partnership (OP3) was created by the Ohio Department of Public Safety to keep businesses operational during and after natural and manmade disasters.
Public and private sectors will benefit from the program by obtaining information about disaster prevention but also recovery efforts. OP3 streamlines the decision-making process and allocation of resources during times of disaster. OP3 will create a network of businesses that will make aid in disaster prevention, planning response and recovery efforts.
OP3 was created following the 2012 derecho windstorm that left thousands without power during a heatwave. OP3 currently has 515 business members.
