Startup Distillery with Historic Roots to Locate in Nelson County

Though under a new name, an old distilling company from the 1800s is coming back.

“The Log Still project is special,” said Kim Huston, Nelson County Economic Development Authority president, “because it’s not only resurrecting a property with great bourbon heritage, but it’s being done by the great-great-great grandson of distillery founder Joseph W. Dant.”

The new distillery will be built on land that originally home to distillery operations of Dant’s sons. The operation will include a distillery, bottling facility, rickhouses and visitor center with a gift shop and tasting room. Log Still plans to hire 20 full-time employees.
