Need a face mask? Tips for Kentuckians to make or find masks before May 11

Gov. Andy Beshear is encouraging all Kentuckians to wear a face mask while in public starting May 11. The new directive is part of the state’s plan to stop the spread of COVID-19 as it slowly reopens parts of the economy.

Anyone visiting or working at a business that is open May 11, or has stayed open, will be asked to wear a face covering to protect themselves and others from COVID-19. All Kentuckians should also continue to practice safe social distancing when in public. While no one will be cited or arrested for not wearing a mask, businesses will have the ability to deny service to unmasked individuals.

Any face covering will do. Here are a few handy tips to make one yourself or find a Kentucky from a local maker.
