A new public-private partnership may lead to the development of a Missouri Hyperloop that would reach about five million people.
Missouri’s Department of Transportation has partnered with the St. Louis Regional Chamber, the Kansas City Tech Council, the University of Missouri System and the Missouri Innovation Center in Columbia to move the Hyperloop project forward.
The project is working to prove there is a viable route for the Hyperloop, a high-speed transportation system that could cut commute times to under 25 minutes. An RFP is the next step in the process to continue studying the route, with a survey budget between $1-1.5 million.
