Louisville’s New Thrive Center Showcasing Senior Living Care Technology

Senior living homes are adjusting to new technology in the 21st century, and Louisville, Ky., is at the forefront of the movement.

The Thrive Center, a state-of the art senior living community equipped with the latest and greatest Samsung technology, celebrated its grand opening October 19, attracting national attention. A public-private partnership between the Commonwealth of Kentucky and Louisville Metro Government, in addition to a series of private companies like Samsung, CDW Healthcare and Signature HealthCare, the Thrive Center serves as a showcase for how technology is changing senior-living care.

Technologies like music-as-medicine, brain fitness software and wellness apps are used at Thrive, while there’s still room for new technology to be added in the future.

“We have more companies headquartered in [Louisville] than any other city in the world as it relates to lifelong wellness and aging care,” Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer explained. “Outsiders have validated the genius of Louisville, Kentucky.”
