Louisville City FC sets date for home opener at new stadium

Two-time USL Champion soccer team Louisville City FC has set a date for the first match in its new home. On Saturday, April 11, LouCity will play Birmingham Legion in the $65 million soccer-specific Lynn Family Stadium.

The club will host 17 regular season home matches in the newly constructed facility in 2020. Named after Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn and their family, the stadium has capacity for 14,000 and includes more than 11,000 seats, 18 luxury suites, more than 400 club seats, a safe-standing Supporter Zone section, eight bars, and a 40×72-foot video board.

As the state’s first pro soccer-stadium, the venue showcases a team that is extremely popular in Louisville. It will also host the new NWSL Proof Louisville FC team in 2021.

Messer-Harmon JV will complete construction this winter in anticipation of the home opener. The stadium will open for the 2020 season for the USL Championship.
