Lexington has $200,000 available for workforce grants

The City of Lexington is now accepting applications for workforce grants designed to support businesses and agencies operating in Fayette County that offer job training, certifications, and licensure to promote economic development activity.

“This grant opportunity will help our citizens get the training they need to compete for good jobs,” said Kevin Atkins, the city’s chief development officer. “A well-trained workforce helps Lexington attract jobs in today’s economy. It’s a competitive advantage.”

Lexington is investing $200,000. Successful applicants are required to measure job placement or certificate/licensure attainment related to the training they offer.

Successful applicants will have a positive impact on economic or workforce development through:

  • Employment entry / re-entry
  • Certifications
  • Licensure
