Let’s go see the lights! Socially-distanced holiday activities in Kentucky
By Beverly Bartlett, Building Kentucky

With many traditional Christmas activities on hold, many families have turned to Christmas light tours as a fun, socially distant way to enjoy the holiday.
On a recent warm night, my family took a long walk around our suburban Louisville neighborhood to admire the lights. But driving expands your options! If you need ideas, ask about good looking displays on your neighborhood’s social media feeds. The NextDoor app even has a “Cheer Map” to find displays near you.
There are also some large community events designed for drive-thru appeal.
1. Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, through Jan. 1. Santa appeared – at a distance – on some early nights. Complimentary.
2. Freeman Lake Park in Elizabethtown has more than 100 displays in its 30th annual event. Runs through Jan. 1. Complimentary.
3. Lights Under Louisville in Louisville is underground, so you don’t even have to wait until it’s dark! It’s $30 for a standard-sized vehicle. Runs through Jan. 3.
