Full Cycle Bioplastics, a recycling center startup that turns organic waste into recycled products, is in need of a space to “fine-tune commercial prototypes.” The answer to its problem is a public-private partnership with California State University Monterey Bay.
Danielle Russo, co-founder and CEO of Think Beyond Plastic, has partnered with the university’s senior adviser to the president, Larry Samuels, to create the Sam Farr Innovation Center. The center is named after the former congressman.
The lab will invite businesses like Full Cycle Bioplastics to utilize the lab for long-term projects. The partners expect the facility to open in 2018.
