Kentucky’s Department of State Parks is considering a public-private partnership to build a new resort facility at Yatesville Lake State Resort Park in Louisa.
The Commonwealth posted a P3 notice this week – the first public disclosure that it has received an unsolicited proposal from a private partner and is considering the idea. The state now is beginning a process to solicit competing proposals, which must be submitted by Oct. 27.
The unsolicited proposal received by the Parks Department and the Kentucky, Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet suggests allowing a private partner to build, finance, operate and maintain a resort facility at Yatesville Lake State Park.
Currently, the state park includes a marina, campgrounds and golf course and is a popular destination for fishing and boating.
