The Jeffersontown Chamber‘s 53rd annual Gaslight Festival will return this year with one of the most exciting event schedules yet. This year, the Chamber announces Kroger as its title sponsor and Kentucky native and country music rising star, JD Shelburne, as the lead to Saturday night’s entertainment.

“I am so thrilled to come back and headline the J-Town Gaslight Festival,” said headliner JD Shelburne. “I can’t tell you how many times I have been to Gaslight growing up – this is a full circle moment for me! I look forward to September 17 and seeing all our loyal followers pack the pavilion!”

This year’s Gaslight Festival, hosted and organized by the Jeffersontown Chamber, will kick off on Sunday, September 11 with the annual Gaslight Thunder Rally, followed by a community 5K, parade and hot air balloon glow. The weekend festivities include an ice cream-eating contest, the J-Town Farmer’s Market and a car show. The festival will run through Sunday, September 18 with more than 135 arts and crafts vendors and 130 businesses attending.

“At Kroger we’re proud to Feed the Human Spirit and support our neighbors,” said Ann Reed, Kroger Division President. “The Gaslight Festival has a long tradition of celebrating the community we are so proud to be a part of.  We look forward to connecting with customers and celebrating in this year’s event.”

The Gaslight Festival attracts nearly 200,000 people to the Jeffersontown area for a week of family-friendly activities, events and live shows, including a golf scramble, 5K walk/run, parade, community blood drive and small business luncheon inviting visitors to enjoy Jeffersontown’s own local eateries and companies.

“The Jeffersontown Chamber is honored to produce the Gaslight Festival each year,” said Deana Karem, Jeffersontown Chamber President and CEO. “Showcasing the assets of the Jeffersontown community is key to this tradition.”

Alongside Kroger, Jeffersontown Chamber is pleased to announce its event sponsors for the eight-day festival, which includes: the city of Jeffersontown, Republic Bank, Baptist Health, US Bank, and River City Bank.

This is the first year a corporate sponsor has supported the Gaslight Festival, a testament to the success and deep roots the event has established in the community.

“The Gaslight Festival is a 53-year tradition for the city of Jeffersontown,” said Bill Dieruf, Jeffersontown Mayor. “It is extra special as our city celebrates its 225th anniversary. We are using this time to celebrate history, tradition, family and what the future holds for our wonderful community of Jeffersontown.”
