Salt Lake County is teaming up with a nonprofit organization and private donors to help men who are repeatedly arrested get their lives back on track.
The data-driven and evidence-based program, called REACH, uses money from private donors to pay for social services provided by First Step House. If the effort succeeds, taxpayers will reimburse private donors in the future.
REACH aims to help 225 men over five years with services including therapy, temporary housing, mentoring and assistance with employment and education.
