Fibonacci company leaders, along with state and local officials, opened its $5.8 million-plus, 25-job HempWood manufacturing facility in Murray, Ky on Monday.
“Kentucky continues to lead the way in the rapidly growing hemp industry, and the opening of Fibonacci’s HempWood facility highlights that progress,” Gov. Matt Bevin said. “This company is developing a product unlike anything else on the market, and we are grateful they have selected the commonwealth for this innovative venture. We congratulate Fibonacci and the Calloway County community on their strong partnership and look forward to an exciting future ahead.”
Following the project’s announcement in March, Fibonacci leased a 15,000-s.f. facility in Murray for its automated HempWood manufacturing operation. The plant will produce sustainable wood made from hemp fiber and soy-based adhesives.
