Stock Yards Bank & Trust has underscored its commitment to Eastern Kentucky by donating $60,000 to St. Claire HealthCare – the region’s largest healthcare provider and employer.
“We are proud to continue to support the strong mission that St. Claire has carried out for decades,” said Benjamin Caudill, Stock Yards Bank & Trust Business Banking Division Manager. “This organization has truly changed the face of Eastern Kentucky through a legacy of compassionate healthcare.”
This new funding will go a long way in helping St. Claire HealthCare serve the people of Eastern Kentucky. $10,000 will go to an innovative new scholarship program – awarded to two students at area high schools. Upon graduation from a healthcare related program at a university, the students will be offered full-time employment with Saint Claire HealthCare.
“As the healthcare industry continues to face labor shortages, we wanted to think about how we could invest in the people from our region to address the problem,” said Mindy Highley, SCH Executive Director of Community Engagement & Philanthropy. “This program will allow us to identify young people who are interested in healthcare, and keep them in our region.”
The remaining $50,000 will go toward general support of St. Claire HealthCare.
