Dozens of firms have expressed interest in the proposed Capital Plaza Tower public-private partnership in Frankfort. Developers and potential investors had until Wednesday, May 31 to submit solicitation forms in the P3 project for the Capital Plaza redevelopment.
The project drew 44 respondents from both national and local companies that could perform a portion or all of the work. Companies that responded – a step required to qualify to respond to a request for proposals – included Walsh Investors LLC (Chicago), Zimmer Development Co. (Wilmington, NC), Corporex Co. (Covington), Messer Construction (Lexington), Fengate Capital Management (Ontario), Hagan Properties (Louisville), Setzer Properties (Lexington) and Van Trust Real Estate (Columbus, OH).
These prospective vendors have until Aug. 25 to submit proposals for their role in the Capital Plaza project. The full list of potential developers can be found at this link. A pre-proposal conference will be held on June 14 to review potential lease and construction issues.
The goal of the state’s project is to work with private developers and investors to demolish the decades-old Capital Plaza Tower and redevelop it along with the nearby Frankfort Convention Center and Fountain Place Shops.
The request for proposals calls for the development more than 385,000 square feet of office space that could house 1,500 employees.
