Spartanburg, S.C., is reaping the rewards of private investment in community-wide projects. From schools to rental and mixed-housing developments, public-private partnerships have blazed a path for additional opportunities for community growth.
The success of Spartanburg’s public-private partnerships has gained national attention, drawing the eye of U.S. Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson. Recently, Sec. Carson, alongside U.S. Sen. Tim Scott of North Carolina, visited Spartanburg to meet local leaders and witness the success of the many privately-invested projects.
“Public-private partnerships is a model that works, creating win-win situations,” Carson said.
