Barton 1792 Shares the Spirit of Bourbon Heritage Month

By Derek Doyle, Building Kentucky

Bourbon Heritage Month is a time to celebrate the people, places and traditions that have made bourbon one of Kentucky’s most recognizable exports.

Throughout September, Barton 1792 Master Distiller Ross Cornelissen appeared across Louisville television programs to share the craftsmanship behind the distillery’s award-winning bourbons, its deep roots in Bardstown and the important role bourbon continues to play across the Commonwealth.

Together, the conversations showcased more than what goes into a bottle. They highlighted bourbon’s connection to Kentucky’s identity, tourism economy and generations of craftsmanship that have made the Bluegrass a destination for bourbon enthusiasts from around the world.

Located in Bardstown, Barton 1792 Distillery traces its history to 1879 and continues to produce bourbon on its historic grounds today.
