With 1.2 million Kentuckians at risk of losing their health coverage due to the Medicaid unwinding process, the clock is ticking for many Medicaid recipients to redetermine their eligibility for Medicaid.
It’s very important that Medicaid recipients follow instructions they receive in the mail carefully to ensure they do not lose their vital health coverage. Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield Medicaid of Kentucky has partnered with local agencies across the Commonwealth to spread the word and encourage Medicaid recipients to take the necessary steps to redetermine their eligibility for coverage.
- Address: Ensure that your correct mailing address, email address, and phone number are updated on kynect.ky.gov, the official Medicaid portal.
- Check mail: Stay vigilant for a letter regarding your Medicaid or KCHIP renewal, which will inform you of the requirement to complete a redetermination form in order to maintain your coverage.
- Turn the form in: If you receive the redetermination form, promptly fill it out and return it to avoid any potential loss of Medicaid or KCHIP coverage.
Anthem Medicaid is touring the Commonwealth to spread the word about the unwinding, and holding “Ready, Set, Renew” events throughout Kentucky so that Kentuckians have the opportunity to speak with Anthem representatives if they have questions about the unwinding. At a recent event in Pikeville, community health educator Grace Nelson spoke about Anthem’s goal with the series of events across Kentucky.
““With the Medicaid renewals that they are doing, we have set up events throughout the state to provide our members with information about what to do if they were to receive a renewal notice,” Nelson said.
For more information on the resource fair, renewal events, and eligibility redetermination process, individuals are encouraged to visit the Anthem Kentucky Medicaid website or contact their local Anthem Medicaid office.
