2020 deemed the “Year of Music” for Kentucky tourism

The birthplace of Bluegrass is still full of music, according to Kentucky’s department of tourism. The state deemed 2020 the “Year of Music” with the release of its annual visitor’s guide.

With musical attractions and activities across the state and rich music history, the Commonwealth celebrates Kentucky’s native songwriters and performers in the newly released publication. Kentuckian J. D. Shelburne graces on the cover of the 2020 Visitor’s Guide, which highlights many Kentucky-born musicians like Dwight Yoakam and Loretta Lynn. Modern country stars like Chris Stapleton and Tyler Childers also call Kentucky and its “Country Music Highway” home.

From Owensboro’s Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame to Louisville’s Forecastle Festival, Kentucky’s continued music traditions cover the gamut of genres and styles.
